Abstract

Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet is a well-known literary work, with many different interpretations and commentaries associated with it. This essay is a deconstructionist approach to Romeo and Juliet. It discusses how the binary opposition of sacrificial love / selfish love gets turned on its head to be selfish love / sacrificial love, and that the reader by the end is in aporia over the true meaning of the play.
